2024–2025

BSE (Boiler Safety Evaluation) delivered to the PP12 IPP, Saudi Arabia

We delivered our real-time safety evaluation system for boiler pressure parts to an independent power project in Saudi Arabia, establishing an overseas field reference. Developed in-house, BSE offers an alternative to imported systems.

Power generation

RBM life management program for the Yeongheung thermal power plant

Optimized asset management for utility boilers through risk-based maintenance (RBM) based on API RP 580/581, including detailed nondestructive testing (NDT) maps, a microstructure library of service-induced degradation, risk assessment by equipment, and next inspection planning.

Monitoring

HRSG DAS — KEPCO / combined cycle power plant

Real-time data acquisition for heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) over TCP/UDP and OPC UA, with unattended system operation, OPC UA nodes updated every second, and automatic hourly CSV backups.

  • Fabrication of fatigue crack specimens based on MIL-HDBK-1823A

Hydrogen & renewables

  • Hydrogen embrittlement evaluation with an in-house-built autoclave (up to 172 bar and 340 °C): slow strain rate testing (SSRT), creep, FCGR and Charpy impact testing
  • Embedded IoT microcrack monitoring based on acoustic emission (AE)
  • Prognostics and health management (PHM) for wind turbines: mock-up application and data acquisition

Rail & infrastructure

  • Railway safety R&D with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and Kyungil University: wheel and rail wear assessment (EN 13262, ASTM G99-23) and destressing criteria for continuous welded rail (CWR)
  • Magnetic rope testing (MRT) of wire ropes for smart ports: technology licensed from the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), validated on a Kangwon Land test bed

National R&D Programs

Growing with national R&D programs

We have carried out numerous government-funded R&D projects commissioned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR; formerly the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (MCEE), the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). By running our diagnostics and assessment engineering division and our corporate R&D center as one organization, we turn research results into field services.
