We identify the root causes of equipment damage such as fractures, cracks and deformation. Requests from outside Korea are handled by email.

How to request failure analysis

Our online request form is available in Korean only. For requests from overseas, please email us; our engineers will contact you directly.

  1. Step 1

    Send your request by email

    Email pileta@pileta.co.kr with the details listed below. Photos of the damaged area, drawings and operating history help us plan the analysis.

  2. Step 2

    Review and quotation

    Our engineers review your request and agree with you on the analysis scope, schedule and quotation.

  3. Step 3

    Ship your samples

    Once the terms are agreed and your order is placed, ship the damaged parts or samples to our Test & Evaluation Center in Daejeon, Korea.

  4. Step 4

    Analysis

    From visual and macroscopic examination to microstructural and elemental analysis, we review microstructural changes, environmental factors and operating history together to identify the root cause.

  5. Step 5

    Report issued

    We issue an analysis report, or provide the analysis data only if you prefer. English-language reports are available.

Checklist

What to include in your email

Including the following details helps us review the failure and prepare a quotation quickly. If some details are not yet available, send what you have and we will discuss the rest with you.

  • Company name and address

  • Contact person

    Name, department and position.

  • Email address and phone number

    Add a billing contact if invoices should go to a different person.

  • Purpose of the analysis

    For example, identifying the cause of a superheater tube failure in a power plant and preventing recurrence.

  • Component or equipment, sample name and material

    For example, superheater tube (SA-213 T91).

  • Number of samples

  • Operating conditions

    Specifications of the sample and the operating conditions of the equipment.

  • Failure history

    How and when the damage occurred, and the relevant operating history.

  • Photos and drawings

    Photos of the damaged area and drawings, if available.

  • Requested analysis scope

    What you would like us to analyze.

  • Report and delivery

    An analysis report or analysis data only, delivered by post or email. Let us know if you need the report in English.

  • Urgency

    Standard or urgent analysis. An additional fee applies to urgent service.

  • Sample return or disposal

    After analysis, samples are either disposed of or returned. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer.
