Eight NDT Methods

Uncovering hidden flaws with eight methods

PILETA Co., Ltd. is a registered nondestructive testing (NDT) business (UT/MT/PT/ECT/VT) with 50 units of NDT equipment across 21 types. We apply methods from phased array ultrasonics to holography and store every inspection result in a database for equipment history management.

Core Methods

Eight NDT methods

From phased array ultrasonics to holography, we select and apply the most suitable method for each type of equipment and flaw.

PAUT

Phased array ultrasonic testing

A-, B-, C- and S-scans, high-angle inspection and precise flaw location

ECA

Eddy current array

High-speed scanning for material inhomogeneity and surface and near-surface flaws

Vibration

Natural frequency testing

Dynamic characteristics of structures and flaw detection

CUI

Corrosion under insulation inspection

Detection of corrosion beneath insulation

MMM

Metal magnetic memory testing

Metal magnetic memory (MMM) method, as standardized in ISO 24497

AE

Acoustic emission

Real-time detection of stress waves and monitoring of flaw growth

Thermography

Infrared thermography

Detection of thermal inhomogeneities and evaluation of delaminations and voids

Holography

Holographic inspection

Quantitative measurement of micro-deformation and delamination

Integrated Application & PiletaDAS

Inspection results become data assets

We apply the eight methods in an integrated way to key power plant equipment, including gas turbines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and piping. All inspection results are stored in a database through PiletaDAS (Damage Analysis System), our in-house platform. Inspections do not end as one-off events; they become data assets across the equipment lifecycle.
